From Track to Street: The Tech Behind Dazzling LED Carbon steering Wheel

There are two main mainstream LED styles, one is a curved LED light, and the other is a relatively small flat-top LED light.

The picture above is an LED light with an arc. This is an LED light that has been installed and set up.
LED light description: Generally, there is a difference between 16 lamp beads and 32 lamp beads. Generally, it can display information such as speed, vehicle speed, water temperature, tire pressure, engine load, etc. Of course, the color and brightness of the light can also be adjusted. This generally depends on the manufacturer of the light. At TTD CRAFT, we can help with the relevant settings. At the same time, the owner of the modified car can ask us for the manual of the LED light to facilitate the owner to make secondary settings.
LED light installation: Volkswagen customers prefer this type of light. First, the lamp has more wicks, and the data displayed by the lamp is also more sufficient, so this is the first recommended lamp for carbon fiber steering wheel installation.
Disadvantages of LED lights: Generally, this type of lamp requires the car to have a stable voltage of 12V, which may not be possible in some old models. For this disadvantage, the TTD CRAFT factory has produced an LED lamp suitable for multiple voltages, and can also customize its own exclusive LOGO, as shown below:

The above picture is a flat-top LED light suitable for a flat-top carbon fiber steering wheel. It has been installed and set up.
LED light description: This type of light is more suitable for flat-top carbon fiber steering wheels. At the same time, the flat light has 9 modes of setting. The wick is not as many as the wick of the previous LED, and the information displayed is more of a color display and a flashing display.
LED light installation: This type of light is recommended for flat-top carbon fiber steering wheels. Of course, we have also made a flat-bottom installation of this type of light (very rare). This type of light is generally set up before production, so if you need to set it up, please contact TTD CRAFT's sales staff in advance.
Disadvantages of LED lights: less displayed data and fewer wicks.
Now some carbon fiber manufacturers have launched airbag cover LED lights, as shown in the following figure. We will not discuss this type of light here.

This is mainly because this type of light has an impact on safety, mainly
1. Installing LED lights on the airbag cover will damage the structure, causing the airbag to fail to deploy normally, the airbag deployment direction to deviate, and high-speed flying debris to be generated;
2. Electrical circuit risks, line interference, short circuit risks, and interference with the vehicle's electronic system;
3. Mainly, it has not been tested and certified.

Then let's talk about the role of LED lights on carbon fiber, which is something that most modified car owners pay more attention to.
One of the major functions is "Multi-dimensional driving information integration", which means that the LED screens on both sides scroll and display the speed, water temperature, tire pressure, and engine load in real time; the shift prompt light strip: flows and flashes with the increase of speed, creating an immersive competitive atmosphere. From then on, the information is no longer scattered on the center console, but is concentrated in front of the driver's field of vision. This is what we usually call high-end modified models (such as Audi LED racing steering wheel).
The second function is zero distraction of attention. Traditional instrument panels require line of sight deviation, while the steering wheel LED reduces cognitive load to a minimum through "planar information layout". Studies have shown that if the line of sight is moved away from the road for 0.5 seconds, the vehicle has been blinded for 14 meters at a speed of 100 km/h - LED indicator lights kill this risk from the root;
Another function is adaptability to extreme environments. High-brightness LEDs overcome reflection problems under strong light; adjustable brightness at night to avoid glare and maintain visual comfort.
